Autumn After School Club in Saffron Walden - Clay Creations at The Crafty Beanie

Looking for a fun, structured, and skill-building after school club in Saffron Walden this autumn?

The Crafty Beanie’s Crafty After School Club is back from Thursday 4 September 2025, and this term we’re diving hands-on into the wonderful world of Clay Creations.

With just 10 spaces available each term and all materials included, it’s the perfect way for children to unwind after school, make friends, and create something truly special.

Term Theme: Clay Creations

Across 8 fun, guided sessions, children will explore the basics of hand-building, slab-work, sculpting, and decorating clay. Each week builds on the last, so by the end of the term they’ll have learned multiple pottery techniques — and created a final clay sculpture they can take home and treasure.

Session plan:

1. Hand-building basics & pinch pots

2. Slab-building & adding patterns

3. Sculpting animals or characters

4. Joining clay & making lids/handles

5. Decorative textures & underglaze techniques

6. Acrylic painting & finishing details

7. Start final project – design & build your own themed sculpture

8. Complete final project & decorate

• Pay-as-you-go: £12 per session

• Term membership: £80 for all 8 weeks (£10 per session)

• Sibling discount: £72 per child for the term (10% off)
